MICHAEL
tutor
Columbia University, M.F.A. in Creative Writing
Brown University, B.A. in English Language and Literature
Michael spent ten years as a Director of Assessment Design & Development at the College Board, where he wrote and edited the questions for the English Language sections of the SAT. A born writer, he also has extensive experience teaching writing and literature as well as tutoring at Columbia and Yale Universities. Michael loves word games and is dead serious about maintaining his “genius” status on the NY Times’ Spelling Bee app. He is enthusiastic about working with students, striving to pass along his own love for learning while making sure they ace the test.
In addition to his interests in literature, art, and cinema, Michael enjoys browsing independent bookstores and exploring cities around the world. A serial language learner, he is always working to hone his skills in another language, currently Portuguese.
