Cassandra is a Ghanaian-American writer and teacher based in Brooklyn. As an undergraduate at New York University, she formed her own individualized major centered around comparative literature and linguistics, titled “Language and Liberation.” She then returned to NYU as a Goldwater Fellow to pursue an MFA in Fiction, where she taught an Intro to Creative Writing course to NYU undergrads and worked at the Expository Writing Center as a Graduate Writing Consultant. In addition, she has worked in a wide variety of writing-related roles, including as a magazine editor, publishing intern, and editorial director. 

In her personal life, Cassandra loves to read and founded the Starry Club, an online short-story club of 60 people, centering the voices of women of color. She’s passionate about interdisciplinary education, sociolinguistics, and writing across genres. When she’s not working on her first novel, she loves to host dinners, organize politically within her neighborhood of Flatbush, and learn new languages.
