UCLA is the #1 public university in the United States, and the most selective of the nine UC campuses. A perpetual favorite of many students looking for a big school in a big city, they have an intense rivalry with USC, and our tour guide made sure we learned all the reasons why UCLA is better than their cross-town rivals.
This week is NACAC week (that’s the National Association for College Admission Counseling), and this year’s conference is being held in Los Angeles, CA!

This year, our students earned 42 acceptances to Ivy League+ schools and 201 acceptances to the Top 50 universities in the US. Our liberal arts-focused students also earned 28 acceptances to the nation’s top liberal arts colleges while our global-aspiring students earned 85 acceptances to the Top 50 global universities. When it comes to data based on real students and real outcomes, test-optional policies can actually undermine some diversity initiatives. For example, according to Stuart Schmill, MIT’s Dean of Admissions, “Once we brought the test requirement back, we admitted the most diverse class that we ever had in our history.”
We're going international! Last week, Jesse joined Sean, a former LP student (and employee!) and current student at Yale, on college tours in England. Sean is a Masters candidate and is looking to study Criminology. Their first stop was Cambridge! The campus was beautiful and the experience was unforgettable.
