So far, the 2022-23 college application cycle continues to follow the trends we’ve observed over the last few years: record high application numbers and, as a result, record low acceptance rates.
Through November 1 of this year, total applications through the Common App have increased by 41% over 2019–20 numbers. On average, applicants applied to 12% more Common App member schools in 2022–23 than in 2019–20.
Dozens of the most selective colleges in the US recorded their lowest-ever ED or EA acceptance rates, including Brown (13%), Dartmouth (19%), Duke (16.5%), Williams (27%), and Yale (10%). Harvard recorded its second-lowest EA acceptance rate (7.6% – second only to the 7.4% rate they recorded in 2020).
The causes of these trends have not changed much either: continuing extension of test-optional policies; growing uncertainty and anxiety among applicants; and increasing demand at all the most selective colleges across the country.
In order to be successful, it is vital for applicants to find ways to stand out from the crowd. Our College Advisors, Tutors and Essay Coaches worked tirelessly to help our students’ applications shine through clear and compelling personal narratives, extensive preparation for interviews, and thoughtful development of their college lists.
We’re so proud of all our students’ hard work and excited to celebrate their Early application successes!
Congratulations to our students who were accepted to their Early schools! See below for a complete list of our students’ acceptances so far. We’ll continue to update it as more Early Action results are released throughout January and February.
