College Tours with Murilo: Boston College

This week, Murilo (from Team LP Brazil) is traveling all over the East Coast, touring and learning all about some of the best universities from New York to Boston. Follow him here for his insights into the various colleges -- what they're like and what it takes to get in!

After traveling to NYUColumbiaNortheasternBentley, & Princeton, Murilo is back on campus. This time...

Murilo visits Boston College!

And he was lucky enough to have Olivia H, student at BC and sister of one of our tutors, Gretchen, as his tour guide!

WHY IS THIS SCHOOL AWESOME?

Murilo: Boston College comprises approximately 9000 undergrads who are academically-driven and passionate! There are unlimited opportunities for students-- arts, sport, clubs and many opportunities to get involved outside of class. I also think that BC has one of the best-looking campuses. It's a pioneering example of collegial gothic architecture.

FAVORITE SPOT ON CAMPUS?

Murilo: The alumni stadium!

5 WORDS TO DESCRIBE CAMPUS?

Murilo: ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, TREES, ECO-FRIENDLY, GOOD-SIZED, CATHOLIC

THE "TYPICAL STUDENT" IS...

Murilo: Creative, smart, competitive, sport-driven and has a complex set of interests!

The greatest tour guide, Olivia!

My tour guide, Olivia, and her friend Stephanie. Stephanie has lived in Rio de Janeiro and speaks perfect Portuguese!

INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVE?

Murilo: BC has a great campus community and there are a lot of networking opportunities for students. People are generally very welcoming and friendly here! International students make up 6% of the student body at BC.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS/OFFERINGS APPLICANTS SHOULD CONSIDER?

Murilo: Business, finance, psychology, nursing, political science, and biology.

Beautiful campus!

TIPS FOR THE APPLICATION PROCESS?

Murilo: Boston College values community service! Applicants should also be academically driven because grades matter a lot.

FUN FACTS?

Murilo: The info session I signed up for was crazy overbooked! 130 people were expected and 200 people showed up! Also, the Arts Festival was taking place on campus when I visited, and it was awesome!

And next time, Murilo visits Babson!
