Back in June, I had the opportunity to visit Colorado and happened to pass by the University of Denver. The campus was just beautiful and the surrounding area and location was so clean and picturesque. So today, the spotlight is on University of Denver.
Located just outside of Downtown Denver, this sprawling campus has a number of historic buildings. While there are many opportunities on campus alone, DU is a short walk, drive or LightRail ride to the revitalized urban areas of Denver. And if an urban atmosphere isn't what you're seeking, the surrounding areas of Denver include some of the best skiing, climbing, hiking, biking, etc. that the state has to offer. Talk about best of both worlds, right?
As far as sports go, did you know that he school's ski team has won more national championships than any other program in the country? While sports are part of life on campus, there are also many clubs and organizations for students to be involved in. One of which includes the Alpine Club, which organizes more than 20 outdoor excursions a year. Other opportunities include musical, theatrical and innovative performances in the on-campus Newman Center and the Pen and Podium series, which brings in several famous authors and poets to speak each year.
The University of Denver consistently ranks in the top 100 national universities (US News) and about 11% of the students are international, with about 70% of students opting to study abroad! Last year, the average GPA of those accepted was between 3.59 and 4.0.
The University of Denver offers its students so much in terms of both academics and organizations. Check out more about this great school here!
